About this plant

“Native Juniper” or “Coastal Boobialla” is a hardy and very adaptable shrub standing anywhere from 0.3 to 5m high. Growing widely along the coast from Shark Bay to Esperance, it thrives in well drained coastal soils with full sun, but will also tolerate lengthy wet periods and denser clay soils. From July to December, or sometimes stretching even to February, small white flowers appear. These are followed by smooth purple-black fruits which can be eaten, though they may not be to everyone’s taste, or used in preserves as well as adding a unique botanical to teas and gins.
