About this plant
“Mindiyed” or “Showy Honey Myrtle” lives up to its name with dense green foliage becoming covered in beautiful pink-purple pom pom flowers from September to Janurary. Growing up to 3m high this large shrub is hardy once established and well-suited to use as a privacy screen. Commonly used on council verges and road islands, it prefers sandy, well-draining soils in full sun and responds well to pruning. Found in the Fitzgerald National Park will tolerate drought, salt, and frost conditions all while attracting many nesting birds and insects.
